A. Look at the pictures and discuss in groups what is happening in each picture. – ছবিগুলোর দিকে তাকাও এবং দলীয়ভাবে আলোচনা করো প্রতিটি ছবিতে কী ঘটছে।

S1 : Friends, how are you? (বন্ধুরা, কেমন আছ?)

S2 : Fine. (ভালো।)

S1 : You see, there are four pictures in the lesson. Can you guess what are the pictures about? (তোমরা দেখতে পাচ্ছ পাঠে চারটি ছবিটি রয়েছে। তোমরা কি অনুমান করতে পার ছবিগুলো কী সম্পর্কে?)

S2 : In the first picture, I can see a woman. (প্রথম ছবিটাতে আমি একজন মহিলাকে দেখতে পাচ্ছি।)

S3 : May be she is a teacher. (সম্ভবত তিনি একজন শিক্ষিকা।)

S4 : In the second picture students are giving salam to their teacher. (দ্বিতীয় ছবিটাতে ছাত্ররা তাদের শিক্ষিকাকে সালাম দিচ্ছে।)

S1 : What is in the third picture? (তৃতীয় ছবিটাতে কী আছে?)

S3 : I think students are saying something to their teacher. (আমার মনে হয় ছাত্রছাত্রীরা তাদের শিক্ষিকাকে কিছু একটা বলছে।)

S1 : But the fourth picture is different from the third one. (কিন্তু চতুর্থ ছবিটা তৃতীয় ছবিটি থেকে আলাদা।)

S3 : Girls are playing hopping game. (মেয়েরা এক্কাদোক্কা খেলছে।)

B. Listen to the teacher/CD about what Shahana says about herself and answer the following questions. – শাহানা তাঁর নিজের সম্পর্কে কী বলেন সে সম্বন্ধে শিক্ষক মহোদয় অথবা সিডি থেকে শোন এবং নিচের প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও।

Shahana’s husband Mr. Zamil Huda works in a company office. He wants Shahana to work with him in his office together. But Shahana doesn’t want this. She would like to be a teacher. She thinks that teaching is an honourable profession. People of all ages and class respect a teacher. She also thinks that it is a great opportunity to do something for the nation. Despite obstacles from her husband and in-laws, she joined the school as a teacher.

অনুবাদ: শাহানার স্বামী জনাব জামিল হুদা একটি কোম্পানিতে চাকরি করেন। তিনি চান শাহানা তাঁর সাথে তাঁর অফিসে চাকরি করুক। কিন্তু শাহানা এটি চান না। তিনি একজন শিক্ষিকা হতে চান। তিনি মনে করেন যে, শিক্ষকতা একটি সম্মানজনক পেশা। সব বয়সের, সব শ্রেণির মানুষ শিক্ষককে সম্মান করে। তিনি এও মনে করেন যে, এটি অনেক বড় একটি সুযোগ জাতির জন্য কিছু করার। তাই স্বামী এবং শ্বশুরবাড়ির লোকজনের আপত্তি সত্ত্বেও তিনি শিক্ষিকা হিসেবে স্কুলে যোগদান করেন।
