A. Discuss and answer these questions. – আলোচনা করো এবং এসব প্রশ্নের উত্তর দাও।

1. What will you do if your parents do not want you to go on a picnic with your friends? – তোমার বাবা-মা যদি বন্ধুদের সাথে তোমাকে বনভোজনে যেতে দিতে না চান, তুমি কী করবে?
Ans. If my parents do not want me to go on a picnic with my friends, I will not insist them to let me go. In such case, though I will feel bad I will try to obey my parents’ decision.
যদি আমার বাবা-মা আমাকে আমার বন্ধুবান্ধবের সাথে পিকনিকে যেতে দিতে না চান আমি যাওয়ার জন্য জোর করব না। এ পরিস্থিতিতে যদিও আমার খারাপ লাগবে তবুও আমি আমার বাবা-মায়ের সিদ্ধান্তকে মেনে নেওয়ার চেষ্টা করব।

2. What will you do if you miss the picnic bus? – পিকনিক বাস চলে গেলে তুমি কী করবে?
Ans. Surely I’ll be shocked in such situation. But I’ll take it easy and keep patient. (নিশ্চিতভাবেই এ পরিস্থিতিতে আমি মর্মাহত হবো। কিন্তু আমি এটাকে সহজভাবে নেব এবং ধৈর্য ধরবো।)

B. Read about what happened to Farabi yesterday and answer the following questions. – গতকাল ফারাবির কী হয়েছিল সে সম্পর্কে পড় এবং নিচের প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও।

Farabi was sitting, bending his head down. He looked sad. His hair was untidy, ruffled. It was clear he did not brush it at all.
ফারাবি মাথা নিচু করে বসে ছিল। তাকে বিমর্ষ দেখাচ্ছিল। তার চুলগুলো ছিল এলোমেলো, অগোছালো। এটা স্পষ্ট ছিল যে, সে একেবারেই তা ব্রাশ করে নি।

“What happened, Farabi? Are you okay?” asked Flora. “I’m so shocked, Flora. I don’t want to talk,” said Farabi.
“তোমার কী হয়েছে, ফারাবি? তুমি কি ঠিক আছ?” ফ্লোরা জিজ্ঞেস করোল। “আমি ভীষণ মর্মাহত, ফ্লোরা। আমি কথা বলতে চাই না,” ফারাবি বলল।

“But you have to. Any pain or sorrow is like a load in the mind. ‘If you tell or share it with your parents or friends, it will be lighter. On the other hand, if you don’t share it, the load will become heavier and more painful. So please tell me what’s wrong,” Flora insisted.
“কিন্তু তোমাকে কথা বলতে হবে। যেকোনো ব্যথা বা দুঃখ মনের ওপর একটা বোঝাস্বরূপ। তুমি যদি তোমার বাবা-মা অথবা বন্ধুদের কাছে তা বল অথবা ভাগাভাগি করে নাও তাহলে তা হালকা হয়ে যাবে। অন্যদিকে তুমি যদি না বল, তাহলে বোঝাটি আরও ভারী হবে এবং আরও বেদনাদায়ক হবে। তাই দয়া করে বল কী হয়েছে?” ফ্লোরা জোর করল।

Farabi looked at Flora and said, “One of my friends Harun is our school football team leader. Yesterday he just dropped my name from the coming Interclass Football Tournament. I wanted to know why, but he didn’t even talk to me about it.”
ফারাবি ফ্লোরার দিকে চাইল এবং বলল, “আমার অন্যতম বন্ধু হারুণ বিদ্যালয়ের ফুটবল দলের অধিনায়ক। গতকাল সে আসন্ন আত্মঃশ্রেণি ফুটবল প্রতিযোগিতা থেকে আমার নামটি বাদ দিয়েছে। আমি এর কারণ কী তা জানতে চেয়েছিলাম, কিন্তু সে এমনকি এ ব্যাপারে আমার সাথে কথা-ই বলতে চায় নি।”

4. Farabi didn’t want to talk to Flora because – ফারাবি ফ্লোরার সাথে কথা বলতে চায়নি কারণ-
