A. Read the text to know more about Flora’s first day at school. – ফ্লোরার বিদ্যালয়ের প্রথম দিন সম্পর্কে আরও জানার জন্য অনুচ্ছেদটি পড়।
Flora continues her story.
It took us half an hour to reach the school. I saw many students on the school campus. Some were playing and some were talking to each other. I didn’t know anyone. So I was a little afraid.
ফ্লোরা তার গল্প চালিয়ে যায়।
বিদ্যালয়ে পৌঁছাতে আমাদের আধঘণ্টা সময় লাগল। আমি বিদ্যালয় প্রাঙ্গণে অনেক ছাত্র-ছাত্রীকে দেখলাম। কেউ খেলা করছিল আর কেউ একে অপরের সাথে কথা বলছিল। আমি কাউকে চিনলাম না। তাই আমি কিছুটা ভীত ছিলাম।

My mother soon took me to the Head Teacher. He asked me a few questions and I answered them intelligently.
আমার মা আমাকে দ্রুত প্রধান শিক্ষকের কাছে নিয়ে গেলেন। তিনি আমাকে কিছু প্রশ্ন করোলেন আর আমি বুদ্ধিমত্তার সাথে সেগুলোর জবাব দিলাম।

The Head Teacher was very pleased. He put his hand on my shoulder and said, “Good! You’re a highly intelligent child. You know a lot. I’ll take you in my school. I hope you’ll be happy here.”
প্রধান শিক্ষক খুব খুশি হলেন। তিনি আমার কাঁধে হাত রাখলেন আর বললেন, “বেশ! তুমি খুবই বুদ্ধিমান।” “তুমি অনেক কিছু জান। আমি তোমাকে আমার বিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তি করে নেব। আশা করি তুমি এখানে ভালো থাকবে।”

I was admitted to class 1. The Head Teacher was a very nice person. He called a teacher and said to her, “Ms Laila, this is Flora. She is a new student in class 1. Take her to the class, please.”
আমি প্রথম শ্রেণিতে ভর্তি হয়েছিলাম। প্রধান শিক্ষক খুবই ভালো মানুষ ছিলেন। তিনি একজন শিক্ষককে ডাকলেন এবং তাঁকে বললেন, “মিস লায়লা, ওর নাম ফ্লোরা। সে প্রথম শ্রেণির নতুন ছাত্রী। তাকে দয়া করে শ্রেণিকক্ষে নিয়ে যান।”

Ms Laila took me to the class. The class teacher welcomed me and gave me a seat. All the students in the class were staring at me. I felt a bit nervous to see all the new faces. But soon I felt easy. I could make friends with two or three students sitting close to me.
মিজ লায়লা আমাকে ক্লাসে নিয়ে গেলেন। শ্রেণিশিক্ষক আমাকে স্বাগত জানালেন এবং আমাকে একটা আসনে বসতে দিলেন। শ্রেণিকক্ষেও সকল ছাত্রছাত্রী আমার দিকে এক দৃষ্টিতে তাকিয়ে ছিল। আমি সবগুলো নতুন মুখ দেখে কিছুটা বিচলিত ছিলাম। তবে শিগগিরই আমি স্বাভাবিক হয়ে এসেছিলাম। আমার পাশের আসনের দু-তিনজন শিক্ষার্থীর সাথে বন্ধুত্ব করতে পেরেছিলাম।

A new place is a new experience. So my first day at school is a new experience in my life. I will remember the day as long as I live.
একটা নতুন জায়গা মানে একটা নতুন অভিজ্ঞতা। সুতরাং আমার বিদ্যালয়ের প্রথম দিন আমার জীবনের নতুন অভিজ্ঞতা। যতদিন বেঁচে থাকি ততদিন আমার স্মৃতিপটে এটি থেকে যাবে।
