A. Look at the pictures and discuss the following questions in pairs. – ছবিগুলোর দিকে তাকাও এবং দুজন দুজন করে নিচের প্রশ্নটি আলোচনা করো।

C. Read about the family. – পরিবারটি সম্বন্ধে পড়।
Mrs Nazma and Mr Joynul Ali live in a small village with their daughters, Mitu aged 7 and Nitu aged 5. Joynul is a carpenter. He is hired by the villagers to make chairs, tables, pira (low stool) and other furniture. He is also asked to do small repair work. But Joynul does not find work every day. He lives from hand to mouth.
সাত বছরের মেয়ে মিতু এবং পাঁচ বছরের মেয়ে নিতুকে নিয়ে বেগম নাজমা এবং জনাব জয়নুল আলী ছোট একটি গ্রামে বাস করেন। জয়নুল একজন কাঠমিস্ত্রি। চেয়ার, টেবিল, পিড়া (বসার নিচু টুল) এবং অন্যান্য আসবাবপত্র তৈরির জন্য গ্রামের মানুষ তাকে ভাড়া করে থাকে। তাকে ছোটখাটো মেরামতের কাজেও ডাকা হয়। কিন্তু জয়নুল প্রতিদিন কাজ খুঁজে পায় না। সে দিন আনে দিন খায়।
Nazma does all the work at home from morning to night, rain or shine. Sometimes she sits with Mitu and Nitu, and teaches them Bangla and English alphabets and some numbers. They do not go to school. Nazma could study only up to class 5. Joynul could not study.
বৃষ্টি অথবা রৌদ্রে, সকাল থেকে রাত পর্যন্ত নাজমা বাড়ির সকল কাজ করেন। মাঝে মধ্যে তিনি মিতু ও নিতুর সাথে বসে তাদেরকে বাংলা ও ইংরেজি বর্ণমালা এবং কিছু সংখ্যা শেখান। তারা বিদ্যালয়ে যায়। না। নাজমা পঞ্চম শ্রেণি পর্যন্ত পড়ালেখা করেছেন। জয়নুল নিরক্ষর।

S2: Yes. They are the daughters of Mrs Nazma and Mr Joynul Ali. Mitu is seven years old and Nitu is five years old. (হ্যাঁ, তারা জনাবা নাজমা ও জনাব জয়নুল আলীর কন্যা। মিতুর বয়স সাত বছর আর নিতুর বয়স পাঁচ বছর।)
S1: Well, do they go to school? (বেশ, তারা কি বিদ্যালয়ে যায়?)
S2 : No, they do not go to school. (না, তারা বিদ্যালয়ে যায় না?)
S1: Can you tell me the reason why they do not go to school? (তারা কেন বিদ্যালয়ে যায় না তার কারণ বলতে পারেব কি?)
S2: They do not go to school for extreme poverty. But their mother teaches them Bangla and English alphabets and some numbers. (তারা চরম দরিদ্রতার জন্য বিদ্যালয়ে যায় না। কিন্তু তাদের মা তাদেরকে বাংলা এবং ইংরেজি বর্ণমালা ও কিছু সংখ্যা শেখায়।)
