Hi, I’m Shyam. I’m from Magura. Although its the district headquarters, it’s a small town. I’m in grade 9 now in Chander Haat Bidyaloya. I love games and sports very much. My father was an athlete in his student life. He inspires me to follow in his footsteps and take part in games and sports or do some exercise besides my studies. So I get up early in the morning and take a walk with my father almost every day. We walk for about an hour. At school, during break I play kabadi, gollachut, badminton, table tennis, and carom. Sometimes I practise the high jump and the long jump outside the school campus. Playing football is a passion for me. I like watching television too.
এই যে, আমি শ্যাম। আমার বাড়ি মাগুরা। জেলা সদরদপ্তর হলেও এটি একটি ছোট শহর। আমি চাঁদের হাঁট বিদ্যালয়ে ৯ম শ্রেণিতে পড়ি। আমি খেলাধুলা খুবই পছন্দ করি। আমার বাবা তার ছাত্রজীবনে একজন শরীরচর্চাবিদ ছিলেন। তিনি আমাকে তার পদক্ষেপ অনুসরণ করতে এবং খেলাধুলায় অংশগ্রহণ করতে এবং লেখাপড়ার পাশাপাশি কিছু অনুশীলন করতে অনুপ্রাণিত করেন। তাই আমি সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠি এবং প্রায় প্রতিদিন বাবার সাথে হাঁটি। আমরা প্রায় একঘন্টা হাঁটি। বিদ্যালয়ে বিরতির সময় আমি কাবাডি, গোল্লাছুট, ব্যাডমিন্টন, টেবিল টেনিস, এবং ক্যারাম খেলি। অনেক সময় বিদ্যালয় ক্যাম্পাসের বাইরে আমি উচ্চ লাফ ও দীর্ঘ লাফ চর্চা করি। ফুটবল খেলা আমার জন্য প্রবল উৎসাহের বিষয়। আমি টেলিভিশন দেখতেও পছন্দ করি।
I watch sports programmes on different TV channels during my free time. I’m a fan of National Geographic, Discovery, and Animal Planet for their documentaries as they are quite interesting as well as educative. Recently my father has presented me with a camera as he was very happy with the result of my Junior School Certificate exam. When I hold the camera, I feel so excited! I wish I could be an amateur photographer in future not to take only personal photographs at different parties but to shoot our beautiful Bangladesh. I’m sure that soon photography will be my most favourite pastime.
অবসর সময়ে আমি বিভিন্ন টিভি চ্যানেলে খেলাধুলা বিষয়ক অনুষ্ঠান দেখি। আমি ন্যাশনাল জিওগ্রাফিক, ডিসকভারি ও এ্যানিমেল প্লানেটের ডকুমেন্টারিগুলোর ভক্ত কারণ এগুলো বেশ আকর্ষণীয় ও শিক্ষামূলক। সম্প্রতি বাবা আমাকে একটি ক্যামেরা উপহার দিয়েছেন কারণ তিনি আমার নিম্ন মাধ্যমিক বৃত্তি পরীক্ষার ফলাফলে খুবই খুশি হয়েছেন। ক্যামেরাটি ধরার পর খুবই উৎফুল্ল অনুভব করলাম। আমার ইচ্ছে ভবিষ্যতে একজন শৌখিন ফটোগ্রাফার হওয়ার- শুধু বিভিন্ন পার্টিতে ব্যক্তিগত ছবি তোলার জন্য নয় বরং আমাদের সুন্দর বাংলাদেশের ছবি তোলার জন্য। আমি নিশ্চিত, শীঘ্রই ফটোগ্রাফি আমার সবচেয়ে প্রিয় বিনোদনে পরিণত হবে।

I also enjoy listening to Rabindra Sangeet and soft melodious songs. I like watching unique English movies such as Titanic and Troy. Recently, we have set up an internet connection at our home. Now, my favourite pastime is chatting with people from different countries to learn about their culture, history, customs, and lifestyle.
