A. Look at the two pictures. Then ask and answer questions. (ছবি দুটি দেখো। তারপর প্রশ্ন করো এবং প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও।)
1. What do you see in the pictures? (তুমি ছবিগুলোতে কী দেখো?)
Ans. Here are two pictures of some students who are busy with cleaning their classroom in the first picture and veranda and frontal in the second picture. (এখানে কিছু শিক্ষার্থীর দুটি ছবি দেওয়া আছে, যারা প্রথম ছবিতে তাদের শ্রেণিকক্ষ এবং দ্বিতীয় ছবিতে বারান্দা ও সামনের অংশ পরিষ্কার করার কাজে ব্যস্ত।)
2. What are they doing in picture 1 & 2 ? (১ ও ২নং ছবিতে তারা কী করছে?)
Ans. The students are taking away dirt from the roof and the wall in picture 1. One student is sweeping the floor, too. (১নং ছবিতে শিক্ষার্থীরা ছাদ ও দেয়াল থেকে ময়লা পরিষ্কার করছে। একজন শিক্ষার্থী মেঝেও ঝাড়ু দিচ্ছে।)
One student is taking away dirt from the wall, two students are sweeping the floor and another two students are going to dump their dirt in picture 2. (২নং ছবিতে একজন শিক্ষার্থী দেয়াল হতে ময়লা পরিষ্কার করছে, দুজন শিক্ষার্থী মেঝে ঝাড়ু দিচ্ছে এবং আরও দুজন শিক্ষার্থী ময়লা ফেলতে যাচ্ছে।)
3. Do you do these things at home? If you don’t, who does? (তোমরা কি বাড়িতে এই কাজগুলো করো? যদি তুমি না করে থাকো, কে করে?)
Ans. Yes, I sometimes do these things at home. When I don’t, my mother does these at home. (হ্যাঁ, আমি মাঝে মাঝে বাসায় এ ধরনের কাজগুলো করি। যখন আমি করি না তখন আমার মা বাসায় এই ধরনের কাজগুলো করেন।)
B. Read the passage and answer the following questions. (অনুচ্ছেদটি পড়ো এবং প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও।)

“শ্রেণিকক্ষটি এত নোংরা কেন?” মিস সাহা জিজ্ঞাসা করেন। “আমি জানি আজ বিদ্যালয় পরিচ্ছন্নকর্মী অনুপস্থিত। তাতে কী? আমরা কী নিজেরা আমাদের শ্রেণিকক্ষ পরিষ্কার করতে পারব না?” মিস সাহা বলেন। শ্রেণি অধিনায়ক, শফিক বিনীতভাবে বলে, “দুঃখিত, শিক্ষক।” “এটা আমাদের শ্রেণিকক্ষ। যদি তোমরা এটি পরিষ্কার করো তাহলে তোমাদের শারীরিক কাজ করা হবে এবং তোমরা ভালো অনুভব করবে। এছাড়া এটি পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্ন রাখাও আমাদের দায়িত্ব,” মিস সাহা বলেন।
“Okay, teacher,” says Shafiq, “We’ll do it from now on.” “ঠিক আছে, শিক্ষক,” শফিক বলে। “এই মুহূর্ত থেকেই এটি আমরা করব।”
“First, you can make a forum, and select a leader,” the class teacher suggests. “Then divide the cleaning activities among different groups.” শ্রেণি শিক্ষক প্রস্তাব করেন, “প্রথমে তোমরা একটি সভা করতে পারো এবং একজন দলনেতা নির্বাচন করতে পারো।” “তারপর পরিষ্কার করার কাজগুলো বিভিন্ন দলগুলোতে ভাগ করো।”
“It’s really a great idea, teacher,” says Shafiq. “We’ll make the committee now and start working immediately.” শফিক বলে, “এটি সত্যিই খুবই ভালো একটি পরিকল্পনা, শিক্ষক।” “আমরা এখনই একটি সভা করব এবং তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে কাজ শুরু করব।”
After this, a committee is formed by class 8 students under the leadership of their class captain. The students are divided into several groups and a work plan is made for cleaning. The students decided to make some ground rules. Here is a list of some of the rules:
পরবর্তীকালে তাদের শ্রেণি অধিনায়ক পরিচালনায় অষ্টম শ্রেণির শিক্ষার্থীদের একটি পরিষদ গঠিত হয়। শিক্ষার্থীদের বিভিন্ন স্বতন্ত্র দলে ভাগ করা হয় এবং পরিষ্কার করার জন্য একটি কর্ম পরিকল্পনা তৈরি করা হয়। শিক্ষার্থীরা কিছু প্রাথমিক নিয়ম তৈরি করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। এখানে কতকগুলো নিয়মের তালিকা দেয়া হলো:
• Do not spit in the class.
• Do not drop litter in the class.
• Use the bin for trash.
• Keep the desks and chairs in place.
• শ্রেণিকক্ষে থুথু ফেলো না।
• শ্রেণিকক্ষে কোনো বিক্ষিপ্ত জিনিস/দ্রব্য ফেলো না।
• আবর্জনার জন্য বেতের বা কাঠের পাত্র ব্যবহার করো।
• চেয়ার-টেবিল নির্ধারিত স্থানে রাখো।
All the students of class 8 are very excited to be involved in this activity at school. অষ্টম শ্রেণির সকল শিক্ষার্থীরা বিদ্যালয়ে এই কার্যক্রমে যোগদান করতে পারায় বেশ উৎফুল্ল।
