A. Listen and read the dialogue. শোন ও সংলাপটি পড়ো।
Mother: Reza, will you come here, please? রেজা, তুমি কি এখানে আসবে?
Reza: Yes, Mum. হ্যাঁ, মা।
Mother: Look. The kitchen is very untidy. I want to make it neat and tidy. Would you give me a hand? লক্ষ্য করো। রান্নাঘরটি খুব অপরিচ্ছন্ন। আমি এটিকে পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন করে তুলতে চাই। তুমি কি আমাকে সাহায্য করবে?
Reza: Sure. অবশ্যই।
Mother: Could you take the pots and plates from the table and put them in the cupboard? তুমি কি টেবিল থেকে হাড়িপাতিল ও প্লেট নিয়ে আলমারিতে রাখতে পারবে?
Reza: OK. রেজা: ঠিক আছে।
Mother: First I’ll sweep the floor. Will you bring me a broom, please? প্রথমে আমি মেঝে ঝাড়ু দিব। তুমি কি একটি ঝাড়ু এনে দিবে?
Reza: Here it is. এই যে নাও।
Mother: Thank you. Now I’m going to mop the floor. Could you get me a mop and bucket and some detergent? ধন্যবাদ। আমি এখন মেঝে মুছবো। তুমি কি আমাকে একটি ন্যাকড়া বাঁধা লাঠি, বালতি ও পরিষ্কার করার জন্য কিছু পাউডার এনে দিতে পারবে?
Reza: No problem. Here they are. কোন সমস্যা নেই। এই যে, এগুলো নাও।
Mother: Thanks, dear. ধন্যবাদ, সোনামনি ।
Reza: Welcome স্বাগতম।

B. Act out the dialogue. বাস্তবিক পরিস্থিতিতে সংলাপটি অভিনয় করো।
Ans. Do yourself. নিজে করো।
C. Match the sentences in column A with suitable answers in column B. Some answers in B may match more than one question. ‘বি’ কলামের সঠিক উত্তরগুলোর সাথে ‘এ’ কলামের বাক্যগুলো মিলাও। ‘বি’ কলামের কিছু কিছু উত্তর একাধিক প্রশ্নের সাথে সঙ্গতিপূর্ণ হতে পারে।

1. Would you read the shopping list? কেনাকাটার তালিকাটি পড়বে কি?
Ans. (e) Sorry, I can’t. I’ve left my glasses in the study. (দুঃখিত, পারছি না। পড়ার ঘরে আমি আমার চশমাটি রেখে এসেছি।)।
2. Will you go to the market, please তুমি কি বাজারে যাবে?
Ans. (d) Yes, I’ll. (হ্যাঁ, যাব।)
3. Will you buy me one litre of cooking oil, please? আমাকে এক লিটার ভোজ্য তেল কিনে দিবে কি?
Ans. (a) Certainly, I’ll do it. (অবশ্যই, আমি তা করব।)
4. Would you buy me some rice? আমাকে কিছু চাল কিনে দিবে কি?
Ans. (h) OK. How much? (ঠিক আছে। কতটুকু?)
5. Would you need some money? তোমার কি কোন টাকা প্রয়োজন?
Ans. (c) No, thanks. I have enough with me. (না, ধন্যবাদ। আমার কাছে যথেষ্ট আছে।)
6. Would you like some tea? তুমি কি চা পছন্দ করো?
Ans. (f) Yes, I’d love to. (হ্যাঁ, পছন্দ করি।)
Now make a dialogue using the table and act it out. এখন টেবিলটি ব্যবহার করে একটি সংলাপ তৈরি করো এবং বাস্তবিক পরিস্থিতিতে তা সম্পাদন করো।

B: Certainly. I’ll do it. (অবশ্যই, আমি তা করব।)

B: Ok. How much? (ঠিক আছে। কতটুকু?)
A: Would you need some money? (তোমার কি কোন টাকার প্রয়োজন?)
B: No, thanks. I have enough with me. (না, ধন্যবাদ। আমার কাছে যথেষ্ট আছে।)-
A: Would you like some tea? (তুমি কি চা পছন্দ করো?)
B: Yes, I’d love to. (হ্যাঁ, আমি তা পছন্দ করি।)
A: Will you switch on the TV, please? (টিভি চালাবে কি?)
B: What for? (কেন?)
A: Would you tell her to watch TV at 10 pm? (তাকে রাত দশটায় টিভি দেখতে বলবে কি?)
B: Why? Rina is watching. (কেন? রিনা দেখছে।)
D. Suppose your friends/relatives are coming to visit you. Write a dialogue between you and your brother/ sister on making your room. You can use words from the box. মনে করো, তোমার বন্ধু-বান্ধব/আত্মীয়-স্বজন তোমাকে দেখতে আসছে। তোমার ঘর সাজানোর ব্যাপারে তোমার ও তোমার ভাই/বোনের মধ্যে একটি সংলাপ তৈরি করো। বাক্স থেকে শব্দাবলি ব্যবহার করতে পার।

Myself: Brother, you know my friends Habib and Harun are coming to visit me tomorrow. (ভাই, তুমি জান, আগামী দিন আমার বন্ধু হাবিব ও হারুণ আমাকে দেখতে আসছে।)
Brother: Let’s make your room well. (এস, তোমার ঘর ভালোভাবে সাজাই।)
Myself: How can we make the room well? (কীভাবে ঘরটি আমরা ভালোভাবে সাজাতে পারি?)
Brother: Ok, slightly push the trolly and fix it here. (ট্রলিটি হালকা ধাক্কা মার এবং এখানে বসাও।)
Myself: Then, what can be done? (তারপর কী করা যেতে পারে?)
Brother: Take out the dry flowers and bring some fresh ones. Then put them into the flowervase. (শুকনো ফুলগুলো নিয়ে যাও আর কিছু তাজা ফুল নিয়ে আস। তারপর সেগুলো ফুলদানিতে রাখো।).
Myself: Ok, anything else? (ঠিক আছে, আর কিছু?)
Brother: Of course, hang some pictures of wise persons like Nazrul, Rabindranath, Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Stephen Hawking on the wall. Move this broken table from the room. Besides, keep your room neat and clean. (অবশ্যই, নজরুল, রবীন্দ্রনাথ, শেক্সপিয়ার, ওয়ার্ডসওয়ার্থ, স্টিফেন হকিং-এর মত পণ্ডিত ব্যক্তিদের কিছু ছবি দেয়ালে ঝুলিয়ে রাখো। ঘর থেকে ভাঙ্গা টেবিলটি সরিয়ে ফেল। এছাড়া, তোমার ঘর পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্ন রাখো।)
