Class 4 English Unit 5 The Little Doctor: Aliya is a student of class four. She is one of the little doctors of her school. A little doctor works for the physical wellbeing of students. She visits the classes and takes measurement of the height, weight and temperature of students.

When a student feels sick or gets hurt, she responds quickly with a first aid box.

She also informs teachers in case of an emergency.

5.1 Read the text লেখাটি পড়ো
Aliya’s younger brother is sick. আলিয়ার ছোট ভাই অসুস্থ।
The doctor advised her brother to take oral saline. ডাক্তার তার ভাইকে ওরাল স্যালাইন খেতে পরামর্শ দেন।
The doctor also told them how to make oral saline. ডাক্তার তাদের ওরাল স্যালাইন তৈরি করার নিয়মও জানান।
Instructions for making oral saline ওরাল স্যালাইন তৈরির নির্দেশনা
1. First, clean a jug, a glass and your hands properly. প্রথমে একটি জগ, একটি গ্লাস এবং নিজের হাত ভালোভাবে পরিষ্কার করো।
2. Then, pour in half a litre of pure drinking water into the jug. তারপর আধা লিটার বিশুদ্ধ পানীয় পানি জগে ঢালো।
3. Next, take a handful of molasses (gur)/sugar and add it into the water. এরপর এক মুঠো গুড় বা চিনি নিয়ে পানিতে দাও।
4. After that, take a pinch of salt, as much as you can hold with three fingers. তারপর তিন আঙুলে যতটুকু ধরা যায় ততটুকু লবণ নাও।
5. Mix them well with a spoon. একটি চামচ দিয়ে সব ভালোভাবে মেশাও।
6. Now, serve the saline to the patient. এখন রোগীকে স্যালাইন খাওয়াও।
7. Remember, you need to finish the saline within 12 hours. মনে রাখবে, ১২ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে স্যালাইন শেষ করতে হবে।
Now, Aliya wants to make oral saline for her brother. এখন আলিয়া তার ভাইয়ের জন্য ওরাল স্যালাইন বানাতে চায়।
She asks her mother to help him making the oral saline. সে তার মায়ের কাছে ওরাল স্যালাইন বানাতে সাহায্য চায়।
Conversation:
Aliya: Ma, can you help me make the oral saline?
আলিয়া: মা, তুমি কি আমাকে ওরাল স্যালাইন বানাতে সাহায্য করবে?
Mother: Sure.

Aliya: Could you help me get the water and the jug, please?
