A. Look at the picture and guess what they are talking about. – ছবিটির দিকে তাকাও এবং তারা কী সম্পর্কে কথা বলছে তা অনুমান কর।
Ans. Here we see a picture of two persons. One person is a TV reporter and other person is a doctor. From this picture I can guess the doctor is saying sometihing to the reporter. (এখানে আমরা দুজন ব্যক্তির ছবি দেখতে পাচ্ছি। একজন টিভি প্রতিবেদক আর অন্যজন চিকিৎসক। এ ছবি থেকে আমি অনুমান করতে পারি, চিকিৎসক প্রতিবেদককে কিছু একটা বলছেন।)
B. A TV reporter is interviewing Dr Mahmud Hasan about his dream. Read the interview. – একজন টেলিভিশন সাংবাদিক ডা. মাহমুদ হাসানের স্বপ্ন সম্বন্ধে সাক্ষাৎকার নিচ্ছেন। তাঁর সাক্ষাৎকারটি পড়।
Reporter : Why do you choose this village for your work? – আপনি কেন আপনার কাজের জন্য এ গ্রামটি বেছে নেন?
Dr Mahmud : The people of my village do not get proper healthcare support because of poverty. I have chosen the village to give them a little healthcare support. – দরিদ্রতার কারণে আমার গ্রামের মানুষ উপযুক্ত স্বাস্থ্যসেবা পায় না। তাদের সামান্য সেবা দানের জন্যই আমি এ গ্রামটি পছন্দ করেছি।
Reporter : How much does a patient pay for the support? – সেবা পেতে একজন রোগীকে কত টাকা পরিশোধ করতে হয়?
Dr Mahmud : They pay very little. And very poor people get free treatment. – তারা খুব অল্প দেয়। আর খুব গরিব লোকজন বিনামূল্যে চিকিৎসা পায়।
Reporter : Isn’t the work very hard? – এ কাজটি কি খুব কঠিন নয়?
Dr Mahmud : Yes, it is. But I do it with pleasure. – হ্যাঁ, এটা হয়। কিন্তু আমি এটা অনেক আনন্দের সাথে করি।
Reporter : What is your future plan for the centre? – এ কেন্দ্রের জন্য আপনার ভবিষ্যৎ পরিকল্পনা কী?
Dr Mahmud : You see, I’m getting old. So I’m waiting for a torch bearer. Many students get MBBS degree in the country every year. I’m waiting for one of them. He or she’ll take responsibility for treatment of the poor in this area. – দেখুন আমার বয়স হচ্ছে। সুতরাং আমি একজন আলোকবর্তিকা বাহকের অপেক্ষা করছি। প্রতি বছর এ দেশে অনেক ছাত্র-ছাত্রী এমবিবিএস ডিগ্রি নিচ্ছে। আমি তাদের কারোর জন্য অপেক্ষা করছি। সে এ এলাকার গরিবদের চিকিৎসার দায়িত্বভার গ্রহণ করবে।

1. Is the healthcare support free to all? – বিনামূল্যে স্বাস্থ্যসেবার সুবিধা কি সবার জন্য?
Ans. Free healthcare support is only for the very poor people. (বিনামূল্যে স্বাস্থ্যসেবা কেবল অত্যন্ত গরিবদের জন্য।)
2. Why is the doctor waiting for a torch bearer? – কেন ডাক্তার একজন আলোকবর্তিকা বাহকের জন্য অপেক্ষা করছেন?
Ans. The doctor is waiting for a torch bearer because he is getting old. (ডাক্তার একজন আলোকবর্তিকা বাহকের জন্য অপেক্ষা করছেন কেননা তাঁর বয়স হয়ে যাচ্ছে।)
3. Who will be in charge of the centre? – কেন্দ্রটির দায়িত্ব কে নেবে?)
Ans. One of the students who gets MBBS degree will be in charge of the centre. (এমবিবিএস ডিগ্রিধারী কোনো ছাত্র কেন্দ্রটির দায়িত্ব নেবে।)
4. Do you think the money he gets from the patients is enough to run the centre? (তুমি কি মনে করো রোগীদের নিকট থেকে যে টাকা নেওয়া হয় তা কেন্দ্রটি চালানোর জন্য যথেষ্ট?)
Why do you think so? (তুমি কেন এটা মনে করো?)
Ans. I think, the money he gets from the patient is not enough to run the centre. I think so, because medical instruments are expensive and it costs much but he gets a few amount from the patient. (আমার মনে হয় তিনি রোগীদের কাছ থেকে যে টাকা পান তা কেন্দ্রটি চালাতে যথেষ্ট নয়। আমি এমনটা মনে করি, কারণ চিকিৎসার যন্ত্রপাতি বেশ দামি এবং ব্যয়বহুল, কিন্তু রোগীদের কাছ থেকে তিনি সামান্য পরিমাণ অর্থই পেয়ে থাকেন।)
