A. Answer these questions. প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও।
1. Have you ever eaten in a restaurant? If yes, where, when and who with? কখনও রেস্তোরাঁয় খেয়েছ? যদি হ্যাঁ হয়, তাহলে কখন, কোথায় ও কার সাথে খেয়েছ?
Ans. Yes, I have eaten in a restaurant. Seven days ago, I along with my friend Badal took lunch at Rajdhani Restaurant, Gulistan. (হ্যাঁ, আমি একটি রেস্তোরাঁয় খেয়েছি। সাতদিন পূর্বে আমি আমার বন্ধু বাদলের সাথে গুলিস্তান রাজধানী রেস্তোরাঁয় মধ্যাহ্ন ভোজ করেছিলাম।)

B. Listen to the teacher/ CD and answer the following questions. শিক্ষকের কথা/সিডি শুনো এবং নিচের প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও।
1. How many people are sitting at the corner table? কোণের টেবিলে কয়জন লোক বসে আছে?
Ans: Four people are sitting at the corner table. (কোনার টেবিলে চারজন মানুষ বসে আছে।)
2. How many menus does the waiter bring them? পরিবেশক কতগুলো খাদ্যতালিকা তাদের কাছে নিয়ে আসে?
Ans: The waiter brings them three menus. (পরিবেশক তাদের জন্য তিনটি তালিকা এনেছে।)
3. Why does Tuhin ask for a menu? তুহিন কেন একটি খাদ্য তালিকা চায়?
Ans: Tuhin asks for a menu because his parents and sister have got menus. (তুহিন একটি মেনু চায় কারণ তার বাবা-মা ও বোন মেনু পেয়েছে।)
4. What is the waiter ready for? পরিবেশক কীসের জন্য প্রস্তুত?
Ans: The waiter is ready for taking orders. (পরিবেশক ফরমায়েশ নেয়ার জন্য প্রস্তুত।)
5. How many items of food have they ordered? তারা কী কী খাবারের ফরমাশ দিয়েছে?
Ans: They have ordered seven items of food. (তারা সাত ধরনের খাবার ফরমায়েশ করেছে।)
6. Who wants some chips? How many of them will eat ice-cream? কে কিছু চিপ চায়? তাদের মধ্যে কয়জন আইসক্রীম খাবে?
Ans: Tuhin wants some chips. All of them will eat ice-cream. (তুহিন চিপ্স্ চায়। তাঁরা সবাই আইসক্রিম খাবে।)
7. Why does Mr Khan like mineral water-not any soft drinks? জনাব খান কেন খনিজ জল পছন্দ করেন- কোনো কোমল পানীয় নয়?
Ans: Mr. Khan likes mineral water not any soft drinks because soft drinks are bad for health. (জনাব খান কোন কোমল পানীয় নয়, খনিজ পানি পছন্দ করেন, কারণ কোমল পানীয় স্বাস্থ্যের জন্য ক্ষতিকর।)
C. Work in pairs. Write a dialogue between a waiter and a customer in a restaurant, giving and taking orders for the following food items. When you finish writing, act out the dialogue. জোড়ায় কাজ করো। নিচের খাবারগুলোর ফরমাশ প্রদান ও গ্রহণ বিষয়ে রেস্তোরাঁর পরিচারক ও খরিদ্দারের মধ্যে সংলাপ লিখ। লেখা শেষ করার পর বাস্তবিক পরিস্থিতিতে সংলাপটি সম্পাদন করো।

Waiter: Sir, how can I help you? (স্যার, আমি আপনাকে কীভাবে সাহায্য করতে পারি?)
Customer: I want to take lunch. So I need rice, hilsa fish curry, dal, vegetables, fresh juice and mineral. water. (আমি মধ্যাহ্ন ভোজ করতে চাই। তাই ভাত, ইলিশ তরকারি, ডাল, শাকসবজি, টাটকা ফল রস ও খনিজ জল প্রয়োজন।)
Waiter: Okay Sir, I’m coming back soon. (ঠিক আছে স্যার, আমি শীঘ্রই ফিরে আসছি।)
Customer: Don’t be late. (দেরি করো না।)
Waiter: No sir, here you are. (এই যে নিন।)
Customer: Thank you. (ধন্যবাদ।)
Waiter: Welcome. (স্বাগতম।)
Customer: Bring me the bill. (বিলটি নিয়ে আস।)
Waiter: Here you are. (এই যে নিন।)
Customer: Here is the money. (এই যে টাকা।)
Waiter: Thank you, sir. You are expected to come here again. (স্যার, ধন্যবাদ। আবার আসবেন।)
Customer: Sure. (অবশ্যই।)
Acting out the dialogue. (বাস্তবিক পরিস্থিতিতে সংলাপটি সম্পাদনকরণ।)
