A. Read the following passage and the letter. ~ নিচের অনুচ্ছেদ ও চিঠিটি পড়ো।
Robin received a letter. He read the letter over and over. He was very excited. It came from his aunt Amina. Aunt Amina and her family live in the countryside forty miles away from Dhaka. Robin ran to his mother and said, “Mom, listen to this letter.” He then read it to her.
অনুবাদ: রবিন একটা চিঠি পেয়েছিল। সে চিঠিটি বারবার পড়লো। সে ছিল খুবই উতলা। এটি তার খালা আমিনার কাছ থেকে এসেছিল। আমিনা খালা ও তার পরিবার ঢাকা থেকে চল্লিশ মাইল দূরে এক গ্রামাঞ্চলে বাস করেন। রবিন দৌড়ে তার মায়ের কাছে গেল এবং বলল, “মা, চিঠিটি শোনো”। সে তখন এটি তাকে পড়ে শোনালো।
Dear Robin,
We are happy to know that your summer holiday is starting from the next week. We would like you to come and stay with us for a few days.
We know you’ll like the country. We have four ducks, six chickens, and a cow that gives fresh milk every day.
Your cousin Maher is just about your age. He’s very excited and is making a lot of plans to do together. Let us know when you will arrive. We have already talked to your parents. Tell them not to worry. We’ll be at the bus station to receive you.

প্রিয় রবিন,
আমরা শুনে খুশি যে আগামী সপ্তাহ থেকে তোমার গ্রীষ্মের ছুটি শুরু হচ্ছে। আমরা চাই তুমি কয়েক দিনের জন্যে আমাদের এখানে আসো এবং আমাদের সাথে থাকো।
আমরা জানি তোমার গ্রাম ভালো লাগবে। আমাদের আছে চারটি হাঁস, ছয়টি মুরগি আর একটি গরু যা থেকে প্রতিদিন সদ্য দোয়ানো দুধ পাই।
তোমার খালাতো ভাই মাহের প্রায় তোমার বয়সী। সে খুবই অধীর এবং একসাথে করার জন্যে অনেক কিছু পরিকল্পনা করছে।
কবে আসবে আমাদের জানিও। আমরা ইতোমধ্যে তোমার বাবা-মায়ের সাথে কথা বলেছি। তাদের চিন্তা করতে নিষেধ করো। তোমাকে আনার জন্যে আমরা বাস স্টেশনে থাকবো।

Ans. Robin was excited because he had got an invitation letter from his aunt. রবিন অধীর ছিল কারণ সে তার খালার কাছ থেকে একটি নিমন্ত্রণপত্র পেয়েছিল।

iv) Would you please answer to my question? আপনি কি দয়া করে আমার প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিবেন?
v) Would you please listen to me? আপনি কি দয়া করে আমার কথা শুনবেন?
A3. Write a similar invitation letter to a friend. Tell him/her about some of the things you plan to do together. ~ এরকম একটি নিমন্ত্রণপত্র একজন বন্ধুকে লেখো। তাকে কিছু বিষয় সম্পর্কে বলো যা তুমি একসাথে করার পরিকল্পনা করেছো।

কেমন আছ? আমি ভালো আছি এবং এটি জেনে খুব খুশি যে আগামী সপ্তাহ থেকে তোমার গ্রীষ্মের ছুটি শুরু হচ্ছে। আমি চাই তুমি আমার গ্রামে আসো এবং কয়েকদিন আমার সাথে থাক।
আমরা সময়টা দারুণ উপভোগ করবো। আমরা আমাদের গাছের তাজা ফল খেতে পারব। আমরা গ্রামের চারপাশ ঘুরে দেখবো। আমাদের একটি মুরগির খামার আছে। তোমার এটি খুব ভালো লাগবে। আমাদের একটি বড় পুকুরও আছে সেখানে আমরা প্রতিদিন গোসল করতে পারব।

B. few days after Robin came back home from his aunt’s house, he wrote the following letter to his Aunt Amina. Read the letter. ~ রবিন তার খালার বাড়ি থেকে নিজ বাড়িতে আসার কয়েকদিন পর নিচের চিঠিটি তার আমিনা খালাকে লিখল। চিঠিটি পড়ো।
My dear Aunt,
I really enjoyed my stay with you in the country. For a city boy, it was a whole new world to see. I was so proud when I first milked your cow ‘Dulari’. Uncle and you have taught me things that I didn’t know before. And please tell Maher that I already miss him. I hope you’ll invite me to stay with you again next summer.
Thanks again for inviting me.
