1.1 Look at the pictures. Discuss in pairs what they are doing. ছবিগুলো দেখো। জোড়ায় আলোচনা করো তারা কী করছে।
(a) The students are singing the national anthem. শিক্ষার্থীরা জাতীয় সংগীত গাইছে।
(b) They are standing in a line. তারা সারিবদ্ধভাবে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে।
(c) They are saluting the national flag. তারা জাতীয় পতাকাকে সালাম দিচ্ছে।
(d) They are doing physical exercise. তারা শারীরিক ব্যায়াম করছে।
2.1 Read the following text. (নিচের লেখা পড়ো)
I am Razib. I am in class four. I study at Azimia Government Primary School in Chandpur. Our school starts with the assembly in the morning. It is a gathering of all the teachers and students in the school field. Every class leads the assembly for a week in turns. At the beginning of the daily assembly, we recite from the holy books. Then we sing our national anthem and salute to the national flag. We also repeat the oath after the assembly leader. Finally, we do physical exercises. It is the best time to meet all the students and teachers of our school.
আমি রজিব। আমি চতুর্থ শ্রেণিতে পড়ি। আমি চাঁদপুরের আজিমিয়া সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে পড়াশোনা করি। আমাদের স্কুলে সকালে সমাবেশ দিয়ে স্কুল শুরু হয়। এটি স্কুল মাঠে সকল শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থীদের একটি সমাবেশ। প্রতি সপ্তাহে পালাক্রমে প্রতিটি শ্রেণি সমাবেশ পরিচালনা করে। প্রতিদিনের সমাবেশের শুরুতে আমরা পবিত্র গ্রন্থ থেকে পাঠ করি। তারপর আমরা জাতীয় সংগীত গাই এবং জাতীয় পতাকাকে সালাম জানাই। আমরা সমাবেশ নেতার পরে শপথ পাঠ করি। শেষে আমরা শরীরচর্চা করি। এটি আমাদের স্কুলের সকল শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থীদের সাথে দেখা করার সবচেয়ে ভালো সময়।

c) How long does every class lead the assembly in turns?
Ans: Every class leads the assembly for one week. প্রতিটি শ্রেণি এক সপ্তাহ করে সমাবেশ পরিচালনা করে।

3.1 Language Focus: Preposition (at, in) (ভাষা অংশ: অব্যয় at, in)
Look at the sentence used in the text.
I study at Azimia Government Primary School in Chandpur. আমি চাঁদপুরের আজিমিয়া সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে পড়াশোনা করি।
Use of “at” – ‘at’ ব্যবহার করা হয়—
1. কোনো নির্দিষ্ট জায়গার আগে
Examples:
• He is at the hospital now. সে এখন হাসপাতালে আছে।
• He was at the market yesterday. সে গতকাল বাজারে ছিল।
2. নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের আগে
Examples:
• I get up at 6 a.m. আমি সকাল ৬টায় উঠি।
• They started at 9 o’clock in the morning. তারা সকালে ৯টায় শুরু করেছিল।
Use of “in” – ‘in’ ব্যবহার করা হয়—
1. কোনো এলাকা, জায়গা বা স্থানের নামের আগে
Examples:
• She lives in Hemayetpur. সে হেমায়েতপুরে থাকে।
• The children are playing in the field. শিশুরা মাঠে খেলছে।
Note (মনে রাখবে):
• ছোট জায়গার নামের আগে at
• বড় জায়গার নামের আগে in
Examples:
• She lives at Fulbaria in Mymensingh. সে ময়মনসিংহের ফুলবাড়িয়ায় থাকে।
• He is now living at Kaladeba in Ramgrah upazila. সে এখন রামগড় উপজেলার কালাদেবায় থাকে।

4.1 Fill in the blanks with the correct preposition (at or in). (শূন্যস্থান পূরণ করো at অথবা in দিয়ে)
