A. In pairs, tell your partner the names of four things- one thing you like, one thing you dislike, one thing you love and one thing you hate. But don’t tell him/her which ones you like, dislike, love and hate. Your partner guesses which one you like/dislike/love/hate. Follow the example given below. – দুজন দুজন করে, তুমি তোমার সঙ্গীকে চারটি বিষয়ের নাম বলো-যা তুমি পছন্দ করো, তুমি যা অপছন্দ করো, একটি তুমি যা ভালোবাস এবং একটি তুমি যা ঘৃণা কর। তবে তুমি তাকে বলবে না কোনগুলো তুমি পছন্দ করো, অপছন্দ করো, ভালোবাস এবং ঘৃণা কর। তোমার সঙ্গী অনুমান করবে কোনটি তুমি পছন্দ করো/অপছন্দ করো/ভালোবাস/ঘৃণা কর।
A: Mathematics, washing clothes, rain, dry fish. (ম্যাথমেটিক্স, ওয়াশিং ক্লোদজ, রেইন, ড্রাই ফিশ।)- গণিত, কাপড় ধোয়া, বৃষ্টি, শুঁটকি মাছ।
B: You like mathematics. (ইউ লাইক ম্যাথামেটিক্স।)-তুমি গণিত পছন্দ করো।
A: You’re right. (ইউ’র রাইট।)-ঠিক বলেছ।
B: You love washing clothes. (ইউ লাভ ওয়াশিং ক্লোদজ।)-তুমি কাপড় ধোয়া পছন্দ করো।
A: That’s not right. (দ্যাট’স নট রাইট।)-এটা ঠিক নয়।
B: Then you love rain and hate washing clothes. (দেন ইউ লাভ রেইন অ্যান্ড হেইট ওয়াশিং ক্লোদজ।)-তাহলে তুমি বৃষি ভালোবাস এবং কাপড় ধোয়া অপছন্দ করো।
A: Yes. (ইয়েস)-হ্যাঁ।
B: And you dislike dry fish. (অ্যান্ড ইউ ডিসলাইক ড্রাই ফিশ।) এবং তুমি শুঁটকি মাছ অপছন্দ করো।
A: Right. My turn now! (রাইট। মাই টার্ন নাউ!)-ঠিক। এখন আমার পালা!

B. Paul is a young volunteer of an international NGO in Bangladesh. He visits Sundarpur to talk to the villagers about arsenic poisoning. Read the passage to know about his visit. -পল বাংলাদেশের একটি আন্তর্জাতিক এনজিওর একজন তরুণ স্বেচ্ছাসেবক। সে আর্সেনিক বিষক্রিয়া সম্পর্কে জানতে সুন্দরপুর গ্রাম পরিদর্শন করছে। তার ভ্রমণ সম্পর্কে জানতে অনুচ্ছেদটি পড়।
Paul went to Sundarpur High School to meet the teachers and students there. He was warmly greeted by all. He quite enjoyed the green coconut drink that was served on his arrival. He gave a short lecture to the students and explained how they would fight against arsenic poisoning. Paul also answered the questions asked by some students. He liked most of the questions. He also took some pictures with the students. He always took his camera with him. He loves photography.
পল সুন্দরপুর উচ্চবিদ্যালয়ে শিক্ষক এবং ছাত্রদের সাথে সাক্ষাৎ করার জন্য গিয়েছিলেন। তাঁকে উষ্ণ অভ্যর্থনা জানানো হয়েছিল। তিনি পৌছাতেই তাঁকে যে ডাবের পানি পরিবেশন করা হয় তা তিনি খুবই উপভোগ করেছিলেন। তিনি ছাত্রদের উদ্দেশ্যে একটি সংক্ষিপ্ত বক্তৃতা দিয়েছিলেন। এবং তারা কীভাবে আর্সেনিক দূষণের বিপক্ষে লড়বে তা ব্যাখ্যা করেছিলেন। পল কিছু ছাত্রের প্রশ্নের উত্তরও দিয়েছিলেন। অধিকাংশ প্রশ্নই তিনি পছন্দ করেছিলেন। তিনি ছাত্রদের সাথে কিছু ছবিও তুলেছিলেন। তিনি সব সময় ক্যামেরা সাথে রাখেন। ছবি তুলতে তিনি পছন্দ করেন।
As he was taking leave, all the students followed him up to the school gate. The teachers wanted to hire a rickshaw for him. He does not like riding rickshaws. He is used to walking short distances on foot, and likes getting some exercise. So, he did not mind walking towards the local Union Council Office.
তিনি যখন বিদায় নিচ্ছিলেন সকল ছাত্র তাঁকে বিদ্যালয়ের প্রধান দরজা পর্যন্ত অনুসরণ করে। শিক্ষকরা তাঁর জন্য একটি রিকশা ভাড়া করতে চেয়েছিলেন। তিনি রিকশায় চড়তে পছন্দ করেন না। স্বল্প দূরত্বে সে পায়ে হেঁটে যেত এবং কিছু অনুশীলন করতে পছন্দ করে। তাই, তিনি স্থানীয় ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ অফিসে হেঁটে যেতে দ্বিধা করেননি।

Ans. He doesn’t like riding rikshaws because he hates the idea while another person is pulling the rickshaw. (রিকশায় চড়া পছন্দ করে না। কারণ একজন মানুষ অলসভাবে বসে থাকতে এবং আরেকজন তাক টেনে নিয়ে যাবে এ বিষয়টি তিনি পছন্দ করেন না।
