Class 4 English Unit 1 Introducing One Another: This unit teaches students how to greet others and introduce themselves politely in English. Through simple conversations, students learn to say their names, age, hobbies, and where they live. The unit also includes pair work activities where students practice introducing their friends and writing short descriptions about themselves and others.

1.1 Listen and Say শোনো ও বলো
Teacher: Good morning, students.
Teacher: সুপ্রভাত, শিক্ষার্থীরা।
Students: Good morning, teacher.
Students: সুপ্রভাত, শিক্ষক।
Teacher: How are you all?
Teacher: তোমরা সবাই কেমন আছো?
Students: We are fine. How are you, teacher?
Students: আমরা ভালো আছি। আপনি কেমন আছেন, শিক্ষক?
Teacher: I’m fine too. I’m Nasima Begum, your English teacher.
Teacher: আমিও ভালো আছি। আমি নাসিমা বেগম, তোমাদের ইংরেজি শিক্ষক।
Teacher: Welcome to your new class.
Teacher: তোমাদের নতুন ক্লাসে স্বাগতম।
Students: We are happy to see you.
Students: আপনাকে দেখে আমরা খুব খুশি।
Teacher: Thank you. Let’s introduce one another today.
Teacher: ধন্যবাদ। আজ আমরা একে অন্যের সাথে পরিচিত হবো।

1.2 Look at the picture. Fariha and Shuvo are introducing each other. Listen and say.
ছবি দেখো। ফারিহা ও শুভ একে অন্যের সাথে পরিচিত হচ্ছে। শোনো ও বলো।
Fariha: I’m Fariha. I live in Safipur. I like to play with my friends.
ফারিহা: আমি ফারিহা। আমি সাফিপুরে থাকি। আমি আমার বন্ধুদের সাথে খেলতে পছন্দ করি।
Shuvo: I’m Shuvo. I’m 9 years old. I like to make kites.
শুভ: আমি শুভ। আমার বয়স ৯ বছর। আমি ঘুড়ি বানাতে পছন্দ করি।
1.3 Look at the picture. Fariha and Shuvo are presenting each other to the class. Listen and say.
ছবি দেখো। ফারিহা ও শুভ ক্লাসে একে অন্যকে পরিচয় করিয়ে দিচ্ছে। শোনো ও বলো।
Shuvo: Hello, everyone. Meet my friend Fariha. She likes to play with her friends.
শুভ: সবাইকে হ্যালো। আমার বন্ধু ফারিহার সাথে পরিচিত হও। সে তার বন্ধুদের সাথে খেলতে পছন্দ করে।
Fariha: Hello, everyone. Meet my friend Shuvo. He likes to make kites.
ফারিহা: সবাইকে হ্যালো। আমার বন্ধু শুভর সাথে পরিচিত হও। সে ঘুড়ি বানাতে পছন্দ করে।
2.1 Discuss the following questions in pairs.
জোড়ায় জোড়ায় নিচের প্রশ্নগুলো আলোচনা করো।
a) What did Fariha and Shuvo talk about? ফারিহা ও শুভ কী নিয়ে কথা বলেছিল?
Ans: They talked about their names, age, hobbies and where they live. তারা তাদের নাম, বয়স, শখ এবং কোথায় থাকে—এই বিষয়গুলো নিয়ে কথা বলেছিল।
b) How do you introduce yourself to others? তুমি কীভাবে অন্যদের কাছে নিজের পরিচয় দাও?
Ans: I say my name, where I live and what I like to do. আমি আমার নাম বলি, কোথায় থাকি এবং কী করতে পছন্দ করি তা বলি।
2.2 Now, notice the language used for introducing yourself and your friend.
এখন নিজেকে এবং তোমার বন্ধুকে পরিচয় করাতে যে ভাষা ব্যবহার করা হয়, তা লক্ষ করো।

ভাষার ব্যবহার: শুভেচ্ছা জানানোর বাক্য
In the conversation, the teacher and the students greet each other at the beginning of the lesson. They used Good morning.
কথোপকথনে শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থীরা ক্লাসের শুরুতে একে অন্যকে শুভেচ্ছা জানায়। তারা Good morning ব্যবহার করেছে।

4.1 Pairwork জোড়ায় কাজ
First, get introduced to each other. Then, introduce your peer to the class. প্রথমে একে অন্যের সাথে পরিচিত হও। তারপর তোমার সঙ্গীকে (বন্ধুকে) ক্লাসে পরিচয় করিয়ে দাও।

In the same pair, draw a picture of you and your peer. Complete the text about you and your friend. একই জোড়ায়, নিজের ও বন্ধুর একটি ছবি আঁকো। তারপর নিজের এবং বন্ধুর সম্পর্কে লেখাটি সম্পূর্ণ করো।
