City Life
Many people think that cities are the best places to live in. City life has some advantages. The city has good communication network and easy means of transport. There are good schools, colleges and hospitals. Also, one can find work more easily. In spite of all these things, city life has a number of disadvantages. The people here always remain busy with themselves. Besides, air in cities is terribly polluted. There is scarcity of pure drinking water. Free movement on the city streets is not possible as the footpaths are always occupied by vendors and hawkers. There are also piles of garbage found here and there. Traffic jam is another serious problem in cities and it often paralyses the city life. Life in cities is also insecure. A person may be mugged or attacked by terrorists at any place or time. So, cities are not the best places to live in.
শহুরে জীবন
অনেকের মতে বসবাসের জন্যে শহর হলো সব থেকে ভালো জায়গা। নাগরিক জীবনের বেশ কিছু সুযোগ-সুবিধা রয়েছে। শহরে রয়েছে ভালো যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা এবং যাতায়াতের সহজ মাধ্যম। এখানে ভালো স্কুল, কলেজ এবং হাসপাতাল রয়েছে। উপরন্তু, শহরে যে কেউ সহজেই কাজ খুঁজে পেতে পারে। এত সুযোগ-সুবিধা থাকা স্বত্ত্বেও শহরে নানা অসুবিধাও আছে। মানুষ এখানে নিজেকে নিয়েই বেশির ভাগ সময় ব্যস্ত থাকে। তাছাড়াও, শহরের বাতাস ভয়ানক দূষিত। সুপেয় পানির অভাবও রয়েছে। ফুটপাতগুলো ফেরিওয়ালা এবং ক্ষুদ্র ব্যবসায়ীদের দখলে থাকার কারণে সেখানে স্বাভাবিকভাবে চলাচল করা অসম্ভব। যেখানে সেখানে পড়ে থাকে ময়লা আবর্জনার স্তূপ। যানজট শহরের আরেকটি মারাত্মক সমস্যা এবং এর কারণে অনেক সময় নগরজীবন স্থবির হয়ে পড়ে। শহরে জনজীবন নিরাপদও নয়। যে কেউ যেখানে সেখানে যখন তখন ছিনতাইকারী বা সন্ত্রাসীদের আক্রমণের শিকার হতে পারে। সুতরাং, শহর স্বাভাবিকভাবেই বসবাসের সবচেয়ে উপযুক্ত স্থান নয়।
