Class 4 English Unit 7 Telling the Time: In this unit, we learn how to tell time and use a.m. and p.m. correctly. We also talk about daily activities and read clocks to say and write the time.
Class 4 English Unit 7 Telling the Time:
1.1 Look at the pictures. In pairs, answer the following questions. ছবিগুলো দেখো। জোড়ায় জোড়ায় নিচের প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও।
(a)
i) What are they doing? তারা কী করছে?
Ans: They are waking up from sleep. তারা ঘুম থেকে উঠছে।
ii) When are they doing these activities? তারা কখন এই কাজটি করছে?
Ans: They are doing this in the morning. তারা সকালে এই কাজটি করছে।
iii) When do you do these activities? তুমি কখন এই কাজটি করো?
Ans: I wake up in the morning. আমি সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠি।

i) What are they doing? তারা কী করছে?
Ans: They are going to school. তারা স্কুলে যাচ্ছে।
ii) When are they doing these activities? তারা কখন এই কাজটি করছে?
Ans: They are doing this in the morning. তারা সকালে এই কাজটি করছে।
iii) When do you do these activities? তুমি কখন এই কাজটি করো?
Ans: I go to school in the morning. আমি সকালে স্কুলে যাই।

Ans: They are playing in the field. তারা মাঠে খেলছে।
ii) When are they doing these activities? তারা কখন এই কাজটি করছে?
Ans: They are doing this in the afternoon. তারা বিকেলে এই কাজটি করছে।
iii) When do you do these activities? তুমি কখন এই কাজটি করো?
Ans: I play in the afternoon. আমি বিকেলে খেলি।

i) What are they doing? তারা কী করছে?
Ans: They are sleeping. তারা ঘুমাচ্ছে।
ii) When are they doing these activities? তারা কখন এই কাজটি করছে?
Ans: They are doing this at night. তারা রাতে এই কাজটি করছে।
iii) When do you do these activities? তুমি কখন এই কাজটি করো?
Ans: I sleep at night. আমি রাতে ঘুমাই।
1.2 Listen and act out শোনো এবং অভিনয় করো
Mitu and Jerin are friends. মিতু এবং জেরিন বন্ধু। They study in different schools. তারা ভিন্ন ভিন্ন স্কুলে পড়ে। They had a conversation on their way back from school. স্কুল থেকে ফেরার পথে তাদের মধ্যে একটি কথোপকথন হয়।
Conversation:
Mitu: Hello, Jerin! How was your morning?
মিতু: হ্যালো, জেরিন! তোমার সকাল কেমন কাটল?
Jerin: Hi, Mitu. It was good. I had Bangla class at 9.00 a.m.
জেরিন: হাই, মিতু। ভালোই কেটেছে। আমার সকাল ৯টায় বাংলা ক্লাস ছিল।
Mitu: Me too.
মিতু: আমারও।
Jerin: What did you do then?
জেরিন: তারপর তুমি কী করেছিলে?
Mitu: I had Art and Craft class at 10.00 a.m. My favourite one.
মিতু: সকাল ১০টায় আমার আর্ট অ্যান্ড ক্রাফট ক্লাস ছিল। এটা আমার প্রিয়।
Jerin: Oh! I also love that period. Anyway, what’s your plan for this weekend?
জেরিন: ওহ! আমিও ওই ক্লাসটা খুব পছন্দ করি। যাই হোক, এই সপ্তাহান্তে তোমার কী পরিকল্পনা?
Mitu: I’m going to attend a cleanliness campaign this Friday.
মিতু: আমি এই শুক্রবার একটি পরিচ্ছন্নতা অভিযানে অংশ নিতে যাচ্ছি।
Jerin: Really? What will you do?
জেরিন: সত্যি? তুমি কী করবে?
Mitu: I will join with a small group of students. After that, we will start the campaign at 9.00 a.m. Our teachers will be with us. The programme will end by 12.30 p.m.
মিতু: আমি অল্প কয়েকজন শিক্ষার্থীর একটি দলে যোগ দেব। এরপর আমরা সকাল ৯টায় অভিযান শুরু করব। আমাদের শিক্ষকরা আমাদের সঙ্গে থাকবেন। অনুষ্ঠানটি দুপুর ১২টা ৩০ মিনিটে শেষ হবে।

জেরিন: বাহ! শুনতে খুবই আকর্ষণীয় লাগছে। পরের বার আমাকে আরও জানিও। দেখা হবে। বিদায়।

2.1 Read the conversation in 1.2. Now, write the time in the blank. ১.২-এর কথোপকথনটি পড়ো। এখন শূন্যস্থানে সময় লেখো।
