A. Talk about the picture and answer the questions. (ছবিটি সম্পর্কে বলো এবং প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও।)
Ans: In the picture I see a patient lying on a bed. A doctor is checking his chest. A boy is also standing beside the bed. (ছবিতে আমি একটি বিছানায় শুয়ে থাকা একজন রোগীকে দেখতে পাচ্ছি। একজন ডাক্তার তার বুক পরীক্ষা করছেন। এছাড়া একটি ছেলে বিছানার পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে।)
1. Who is the man lying on the examination table? (পরীক্ষণ টেবিলে কে শুয়ে আছেন?)
Ans: Rabi’s father, Mr. Zahir Ali is lying on the examination table. (রবির বাবা জনাব জহির আলী পরীক্ষার টেবিলে শুয়ে আছেন।)
2. Who is examining the patient? (রোগী কে পরীক্ষা করছে?)
Ans: A doctor is examining the patient. (একজন ডাক্তার রোগীকে পরীক্ষা করছেন।)
B. Read and act out the conversation. কথোপকথনটি পড়ো এবং অভিনয় করো।
Rabi’s father, Mr. Zahir Ali, is not well. He has difficulty in speaking. He is now at the doctor’s clinic.
রাবির বাবা, মি. জহির আলী, অসুস্থ। তার কথা বলতে কষ্ট হচ্ছে। তিনি এখন চিকিৎসকের ক্লিনিকে।
Rabi: Good evening, doctor.
রাবি: শুভ সন্ধ্যা, ডাক্তার।
Doctor: Good evening. How is your father today?
ডাক্তার: শুভ সন্ধ্যা। তোমার বাবা আজ কেমন আছেন?
Rabi: Not at all well. He has difficulty in breathing as before. He is having severe chest pain again.
রাবি: একদমই ভালো নেই। আগের মতোই তার শ্বাস নিতে কষ্ট হচ্ছে। আবার তীব্র বুকের ব্যথা অনুভব করছেন।
Doctor: I see. Mr. Ali, could you lie down on the examination table, please?
ডাক্তার: বুঝতে পারলাম। মি. আলী, আপনি কি দয়া করে পরীক্ষার টেবিলে শুতে পারবেন?
Doctor: OK, let’s see… Do you feel any pain here?
ডাক্তার: ঠিক আছে, দেখি… এখানে কোনো ব্যথা অনুভব করছেন?
Zahir: Ooh!
জহির: উহ!
Doctor: And here?
ডাক্তার: আর এখানে?
Zahir: Ouch!
জহির: আউচ!
Doctor: All right. I’m prescribing a medicine.
ডাক্তার: ঠিক আছে। আমি ওষুধ লিখে দিচ্ছি।
Doctor: Take one tablet in the morning and another at night before meals.
ডাক্তার: সকালে একটি ট্যাবলেট এবং রাতে খাবারের আগে আরেকটি ট্যাবলেট খান।
Doctor: I also advise you to have a chest X-ray immediately.
ডাক্তার: আমি আপনাকে দ্রুত একটি বুকের এক্স-রে করার পরামর্শ দিচ্ছি।
Doctor: If possible, show me the X-ray report today in the evening. OK?
ডাক্তার: যদি সম্ভব হয়, আজ সন্ধ্যায় এক্স-রের রিপোর্ট আমাকে দেখান। ঠিক আছে?
Rabi: Okay, doctor. Thank you.
রাবি: ঠিক আছে, ডাক্তার। আপনাকে ধন্যবাদ।
Doctor: You are welcome.
ডাক্তার: তোমাকে স্বাগতম।
C. Answer the following questions. (নিচের প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও।)
1. Who are talking in the dialogue? (সংলাপটিতে কে কে কথা বলছেন?)
Ans. In the dialogue, Rabi and the doctor are talking. (সংলাপটিতে রবি এবং চিকিৎসক কথা বলছেন।)
2. Where does the dialogue take place? (সংলাপটি কোথায় সংঘঠিত হয়?)
Ans. The dialogue takes place at the doctor’s clinic. (সংলাপটি চিকিৎসকের ব্যক্তিগত ক্লিনিকে সংঘটিত হয়।)
3. What are Zahir Ali’s problems? (জহির আলীর সমস্যা কী কী?)
Ans. Zahir Ali’s problems are difficulty in breathing, chest pain and difficulty in speaking. (জহির আলীর সমস্যাগুলো হলো শ্বাসপ্রশ্বাসে কাঠিন্য, বুকে ব্যথা ও কথা বলতে সমস্যা।)
4. Why can’t Zahir Ali tell the doctor about his problems? (জহির আলী কেন তার সমস্যার কথা চিকিৎসককে বলতে পারেন না?)
Ans. Zahir Ali can’t tell the doctor about his problems, because he has difficulty in speaking. (জহির আলী চিকিসৎকের নিকট অর সমস্যার কথা বলতে পারেন না কারণ তার কথা বলতে সমস্যা হচ্ছে।)
5. What does the doctor prescribe him? (চিকিৎসক তাকে কী পরামর্শ দেন?)
Ans. The doctor prescribes him to take a medicine. (চিকিৎসক তাকে একটি ঔষধ খাওয়ার পরামর্শ দেন।)
D. Ask and answer the questions in pairs. (জোড়ায় জোড়ায় প্রশ্ন করো এবং উত্তর দাও।)
1. Did you have any stomach pain or leg injury anytime before? (পূর্বে তোমার কোনো সময় পাকস্থলিতে ব্যথা বা পায়ে সমস্যা হয়েছিল?)
Ans: Yes, I had a stomach pain. (হ্যাঁ, আমার পাকস্থলিতে ব্যথা হয়েছিল।)
2. When was it? (এটি কখন হয়েছিল?)
Ans: It was in December, 2024. (এটি ২০২৪ সালের ডিসেম্বর মাসে হয়েছিল।)
3. What did you do to get well? (সুস্থ হওয়ার জন্য তুমি কী করেছিলে?)
Ans: To get well I consulted a doctor and took medicine. (সুস্থ হওয়ার জন্য আমি চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ নিয়েছিলাম এবং ঔষধ খেয়েছিলাম।)
E. Suppose you visited a doctor for a stomach pain or bad cold. Make an imaginary dialogue between you and the doctor. Act it out in pairs. ধরো, তুমি পেটের ব্যথা বা প্রচণ্ড ঠান্ডার কারণে একজন ডাক্তারের কাছে গিয়েছ। তুমি এবং ডাক্তারের মধ্যে একটি কাল্পনিক সংলাপ তৈরি করো। এটি জোড়ায় জোড়ায় অভিনয় করো।

রোগী: সুপ্রভাত, ডাক্তার।
Doctor: Good morning. What’s wrong?

Patient: I have stomach pain since last night.
রোগী: গত রাত থেকে পেটের ব্যথা।
Doctor: Did you eat anything unusual?
ডাক্তার: তুমি কি কোনো অস্বাভাবিক খাবার খেয়েছ?
Patient: Yes, I ate some street food yesterday.
রোগী: হ্যাঁ, আমি গতকাল কিছু রাস্তার খাবার খেয়েছিলাম।
Doctor: That may be the reason. I will give you medicine.
ডাক্তার: হতে পারে, এটাই কারণ। আমি ওষুধ দিচ্ছি।
Doctor: Take it after meals and drink plenty of water.
ডাক্তার: খাবারের পর খাবে এবং প্রচুর পানি পান করো।
Patient: Okay, doctor. Thank you.
